The more I learn about technology, the more I learn just how much I do not know. Just about the time I'm think I'm pretty smart, Ka-Plow-Wee!!! The evil Tech Gremlin reaches out and grabs me by the neck and says "Hello! I'm here to tell you how much you do not know!"
My tech guy who has been so helpful these last 3 years, suddenly keeled over dead last week. As if that wasn't shock enough, I called up the company that hosts the SewingArtistry.com site, and guess what? I don't have control over the site. I own the site, but I don't have control over. Now, I need to prove that I'm SewingArtistry. Oh but wait it gets better.Â
Hopefully I can prove that I'm me and not the Claire from Mars that's been getting so much publicity (?!!!!!) OK, that's really not funny cause I do have to jump through some pretty impressive hoops to get back to normal (whatever that is!) My IT guy was apparently pretty much of a loner, but had a lot of customers, but no family. So no one is there to make arrangements for the body or the funeral. Yeah, and in my state that means they can't issue a
death certificate (to prove that he's dead and my birth certificate to prove that I'm not from Mars, so I can get control over my site)!
So this is to say that things might be a little hinky over on the site for a while till I can work through all the red tape out there. Once I do, then you all will be the first to know. This is also to say that the
Fitting With Proportion and Figure Flattering Tools will be up for a while, cause my site has some glitchy things going on. I think it's practicing for Halloween personally!
In the meantime, I'm still running all the Zoom live videos connected with this resource and the other resources in the library, and I apologize in advance for any difficultly with anything, because things will be a little funky till I can get control of the site that I own. I think this is priceless that I own something but don't control it!!!!
I don't like to leave you without some sort of content here, and since I can't make blog posts, that means I will be over on my Facebook Page more and more. I've been doing some live videos, and I do not expect you all to sit around and wait with bated breath for my live videos so they are always saved and posted on the timeline for the SewingArtistry Page. Here's the first one! You can click here to get there or the little "F" icon at the bottom of each email.Â
Right now I'm working with a wonderful client, who I've secretly wanted to do something for, for ages, and now I finally get to. She is not svelte and her son is getting married and wants to look spectacular this fall for that. The great thing about fitting clients who aren't runway-model thin, is that I can make my point in spades that everyone can be fit -- everyone can look flattering -- and everyone can be comfortable in what they wear.Â
As I progress along, I will put up some short little videos of the gown I've designed for this client, so you can get the insider view of this gown, particularly the fitting part.  To start I'm using a delicious jewel sapphire blue ponte knit. And I'm sure you're saying, "Ponte knit for a gown?" Yep, that's right. But we're dressing it up a lot. As well I'm using it for the lining because it will need the stability,
but also this is the standard Parisian couture method to line with the fashion fabric. It makes the inside as gorgeous as the outside.Â
In the meantime, I will be working on the site, and no worries if you can't get into the site. The deadline for the special price will be extended for as long as we need, and in the meantime, I can still do Zoom live video calls and will keep those up and going.Â
If you respond to this email, and it bounces, you can also use this email address support@sewingartistry.co - it's the same without the "m" at the end. But I'm working to get everything up as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding, and we'll plug along like we have through everything else this year!!!

September's Feature Resource
Â
Fitting With Proportion and Figure Flattering Tools
aka Apex and Proportion Tools
This is one of my best resources in the library as it collects the 40 years of experience I have i fitting all sizes, shapes and styles. And I mean all of them. A dwarf who was a bridesmaid - the bride brought me the fabric and trim and a photo of what the other girls were wearing - and she wanted something that would really last and it did! Another debutante had scoliosis surgery (to correct her spinal curvature which would have eventually pressed against her
lungs and kill her) 3 months before the ball and I designed her dream dress to wear on her special night. Then countless grandmothers and mothers who watched their granddaughters and daughters be fitted by me and wanted the same treatment. Their bodies weren't so complicated as much as having 30 to 60 years of living in them and like all of us wanted to look special.Â
Â
These figures all taught me that we are all different, but it also taught me that we can all be fitted. Usually clients showed up at my door with some problem that RTW couldn't solve. But after I finished a few years of my clients, the word spread, that I could do anything (well, except read minds and defy gravity) and the challenges continue to today. I love these challenges (I have one this fall that I will share with
you later, that I'm really excited about).
Â

This is my scoliosis deb and her beautiful smile!
And I love sharing these techniques and tools with you because there's more to sewing than simply perfecting construction techniques. There's the looking good in your garment; there's the feeling good in your garment; there's the feeling comfortable in your garment; and there's the being flattered in your garment. As sewists we have so much more than simply making a garment when we can have all this
comfort, flattery and fit too!Â
You sorta feel sorry for those who can't sew - And no, you don't sew for others, unless it's for someone really special!
The Fitting With Proportion and Figure Flattering Tools Resource is available here and is at a 16% off. I rounded the cents down so it's a little more discount this month. Â
