April 3, 2020
Â
Whoa! April came in and the week just went whoosh and here is is Friday and I'm like, "I think I'm supposed to be doing something but I'm not sure what it is!" Duh!
With all this stay-at-home time, my imagination has gone nuts and I'm writing new products, developing new techniques and designs and well, basically my mind has had free reign on creating a mass of stuff.Â
For one thing, I've finished and put all the polishing touches on the sloper. And let me tell you - this is not that hard. It sounds like oooooo - this is something that only art students and design students and professional design studios can do and therefore it's not something we mere mortals should even try. Even piddling along making a video (and you wouldn't believe how much extra time it takes to do that, cause I'm thinking all the time, "Now did what I just
say make sense?...is that the best way to describe what's going on here?...could I have done that better?...is there a more efficient way to do this?"Â Even though it may seem like I'm yammering, I'm actually not, I'm actually thinking about what I'm saying, and that takes a lot of out-takes and thinking something over about a better, easier way to do things.
OK - enough said on that - the short version (which rarely passes through my lips or fingers on the keyboard) is that this sloper isn't that hard. It IS many, many steps, and what I'm really thinking about is doing a Zoom video with you all to help you through the tough parts, or even when you're done to do a critique on your finished piece to make it even better. The direction will be "on topic" of the sloper, but if we get off on another direction, we might need to schedule another
Zoom class. The Zoom would be free, but the replay would cost to see it. If you attend, you will get a copy of the video for free, as well as a copy of the chat.  Â
So that after you look at it, and it looks confusing, for those of you who have it, I want to do a live video - I'm think probably the 3rd week in April for this, and this brings up several questions which I've created a form for - if you don't mind filling it out, click here, that would really help.
If you're not familiar with a sloper, here's a great video to give you an idea of where you're headed. This is my sloper I'm trying on minutes after I finished drafting it.
