Welcome to this week's Report! One quick
announcement before we dig in... Don't forget to fill out our quick survey!
This is going to help us really zero
in on what you need to become the sewist we both know you are and to say
thanks for your input, you'll get access to a FREE One-Hour Teleseminar Answering YOUR
Biggest Sewing Challenge or Question!
Here's the link to the survey
You have until 6:37 pm (CST) on
Sunday, August 11th to complete the survey, but DON'T WAIT until then... the
Q&A will be FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE, so the sooner you complete the survey,
the better chance you have of getting your question answered.
Once you hit "Submit," you'll immediately be taken to a page that gives you
all the details on how to attend.. and just in case you're wondering, both
the survey and the teleseminar are anonymous, so I will NOT be disclosing
any names associated with any of the questions on the teleseminar.
I hope to see you there!
Now, onto the newsletter...
Gradually sewing is finally moving out of the stigma of the
1950's/Mrs. Cleaver/mom-stuck-at-home frame of mind. Sewing
today is not so much done for economic reasons or necessity but
more for creative reasons. And that's not to say that you
don't save money and sewists enjoy that, it's just to say that
creativity has moved more to the forefront than any other reason.
Then there is also the green reason. And sometimes I
get bored of hearing about being more green, but what
happens with we sewists is that being more green is a natural
outcome of our creations. We really don't have to make any
effort at all. And here's the double whammy here - not only
do sewists not purchase the cheap fashion starting the recycling
clogging, but we don't contribute to the already jammed up
recycling that is already backed up from so much cheap fashion
already trying to be recycled! Our clothes last for a long
time and when they are recycled it's usually done by us.
(How many times have you taken that old jacket and re-fashioned it
into a keen neat vest?!!!!)
But more than anything filling your closet with clothes that are
not only useful, but beautiful and a clear reflection of you and
you alone is not only addictive, but totally fulfilling.
When I got out, of course everyone knows that my outfits are my
creation, but no matter if I'm up a few pounds (which happened
unfortunately this spring, I still look good, because of the way I
design the outfits. Now when I loose those extra poingds I
can design outfits for that too - and they are in MY color for MY
style and in MY size and for MY shape!!!!
How can you not love that!

Old
vs New - It’s so hard when you’ve grown up with the styles of a star or designer and
the newer version tries to make it better. I think Ann Roth did an
