This pretty much tells everything in one shot. Below is a video, and what you will also notice in the video is there is a pesky little side wrinkle in the front (it's hard to see above, but easier to see in the video), which also disappears when you do this
sway back fix.
What to remember is that the wrinkles at the waist are caused by a girth problem right below the waist. The fabric is
trying to reach a smaller place cause there isn't enough to go around that larger girth area. There's also a tilt problem here, but the solution I recommend fixes the tilt and the wrinkles at the waist.
So, you usually need more fabric in the back than in the front. Often, you will take a measurement, and it will be correct, but you may have extra fabric in the front and not enough in the back. That means that your body is tilting a bit to the back and away from
the front. That means you need more fabric in back than in the front. You can tilt the garment a little, but I guarantee you this is way more complicated than simply keep the fabric in front, and adding a little in back, and it hangs better on your body.
Obviously when you have something that you've purchased, you can't go get some more fabric. But like my example here you can find some wow fabric that goes beautifully with the knit and it just works. I like mesh knit for these inserts, but you might find a fun print or solid that is the perfect "Wow!" insert, so let your imagination flow on these
inserts.
In my case too, I probably would have benefited with two godets rather than one, but I only had the fabric for one, so I made do, and
it works fine. But here's how you do that godet for two.
